About JBA Offroad

Jeepin By AL was started when AL Handy lifted his Jeep Liberty and his upper A-arms failed prematurely. Al being a engineer by trade looked to find a fix for the problem. Al's original design, (Gen 1) was installed in late 2004 on his 2002 Jeep Liberty.  The design was modeled after an oval track race car upper control arm.   Al made small changes to the design taking the arms to Gen 3. Al sold the company assets to me in May 2007.   I changed the ball joint mount on the Gen 4.5 to a bolt in ball joint. I introduced the 4.5 stock replacement arms early 2008. (for the KJ without a lift kit) The Gen 5.5 a-arms designed for the KK 2008 and up, introduces late in 2008.

I started building a proto type 6" lift kit for the Jeep Liberty late in 2007.  I invested 2 years of my time to get it right. When I built a custom 12" lift is when I cracked the code on the Jeep IFS! The IFS needs a varible rate spring for it to work properly.  I was the first to build a production lift kit with coilover struts with a varuble rate spring for the Jeep Liberty.

In 2010 I introduced the WK/XK a-arms for the lifted Jeeps. In January 2011 we ran the first production arms for the WK SRT8, these are for the lowered Jeeps WK. On September 1 2011, JBA purched 4xGuard from Russ Livingston to add body armor to the JBA product line.  In January 2015 we introuced our upper control arms for the Toyota market, and with it came the name change to JBA Offroad.
